Ana Raab

During the summer of 2016, I traveled overseas completely on my own for the first time. Over the course of seven weeks, I wandered through Scandinavia exploring the Swedish heritage of my grandmother, made my way to Berlin by train, confronted the stark beauty of Iceland, and endeavored to find a small piece of myself along the way.

Around Here Lately

I moved away from Seattle at eighteen—headed south for college in California, and then east to spend my twenties in New York City. Eventually, at age 29, I moved back home for a variety of reasons and have been back now for almost five years. It’s been an interesting journey to rediscover the city I grew up in, to see its nooks and crannies anew particularly as the architectural landscape changes quickly. Here are some photos of things I know well (like the Market and ferry boat rides) viewed again with fresh, more grateful eyes.
